ARTERY project is started!
The ARTERY project is started in January 2021 and lasts for 3 years, from January 2021 to March 2024. The kick-off meeting took place online the 21st and 22nd January. ARTERY aims to speed up the percutaneous treatment of structural heart diseases (SHDs), introducing a procedure that is easier to learn and to perform, as well as being safer and radiation-free, thereby widening the scope of this technology and exploiting its exciting potential more fully. ARTERY will design, build and benchmark a completely novel variable/shared autonomy robotic platform for preforming life-saving percutaneous SHD procedures.
The project is funded by the European Union under the Horizon 2020 Research and Innovation Programme. ARTERY is an initiative led at international level in 4 different countries: Italy, Belgium, Germany and Switzerland. The 7 scientific and technical partners involved are: Politecnico di Milano (coordinator), in cooperation with Fondazione Politecnico di Milano, Artiness, FBGS, IRCCS San Raffaele Hospital, KU Leuven, Scuola Superiore Sant’Anna, SwissVortex.
